Animal Crossing: New Horizons isn’t just about improving one’s deserted island getaway experience; it’s also about getting along with lovely animals called villagers. Apart from being cute and sociable, Villagers hide more secrets that players need to know.
There are over 400 Villagers to collect in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Each of them comes with unique appearances, but most importantly, each has a personality. There are several traits in the game and knowing which of which can lead to a thriving community.
Normal
As the name suggests, these Villagers act normal. They are fond of cooking and cleaning too. In terms of their sociability, they get along with every villager type except Cranky.
Cranky
These villagers may seem a bit rude at first, but they eventually warm up to the player. They spend most of their days, typically outside. Most of them wear jackets and shirts. They also get along with Snooty, Jock, and Lazy villagers.
Jock
Jock villagers are the easiest to spot as they talk about health and fitness whenever they can. They can be found around town, working out almost every time. In terms of sociability, they get along with everyone except Snooty and Lazy villagers
Smug
Contrary to the name, Smug villagers can get along with every other villager type in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While they tend to annoy others, the general outlook of them is good. Smug villagers can be characterized easily if a villager talks about himself too often.
Lazy
Lazy villagers are the exact opposite of Jock villagers. They can be seen sitting down on the island and are often heard talking about resting. By nature, Lazy villagers don’t get along with Peppy, Jock, and Snooty villagers.
Snooty
Snooty villagers are arrogant and high-strung. These make them a favorite of Cranky and Smug villagers, but most other villager types find them annoying. Snooty villagers are the hardest to get along with, but they warm up to the players over time.
Peppy
Peppy villagers are similar to Normal villagers, but what’s different is that they are more active around the island. These villages often wear colorful clothes and are found interacting with other villagers on the island as well. They get along with everyone except Cranky and Snooty villagers.
Uchi
This villager type is the rarest in the game, having been introduced in the previous Animal Crossing only. Uchi or Big Sisters are generally nice towards every other villager, but they tend to be annoyed by Snooty and Cranky villagers from time to time.
These are all of the villager types in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While it may seem unimportant at first, knowing what a villager’s personality serves as a key in making sure that the island community is a friendly community through and through.
