With the season expected to resume soon, Real Madrid is poised to snatch the La Liga title from its closest rival Barcelona.

La Liga is set to resume within the next couple of days.  With that return comes a lot of speculations. For one, which team will win the championship. Real Madrid currently sits in second place, but the club has a major shot at the title.

Speculations about Real Madrid winning

With 27 games already played, Real Madrid currently holds the second place on the table with 56 points. On top is rival Barcelona with 58 points. With just 11 games left to play, the Los Blancos have a sure shot at the title.

Also, the club has fewer losses than Barcelona with just three. Despite being on top of the table, Barcelona has racked up five losses throughout the season. One of those losses came via a 2-0 trashing at Santiago Bernabeu.

Although the two clubs will no longer face each other for the rest of the season, their run will surely be interesting. With players returning after a full break, it will be interesting to witness as they return to their top form.

With Barcelona, the team is expecting to face some of the top clubs for its remaining 11 games. Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are formidable clubs that are capable of challenging Barcelona’s dominance.

On the other hand, Real Madrid’s last 11 remaining games are less threatening compared to that of Barcelona. Among the most formidable clubs, it has to face are Getafe and Real Sociedad.

Wild cards in La Liga

While Barcelona and Real Madrid are the top choices to win the La Liga title, a handful of clubs are still in contention. With 11 games still left, it is still mathematically possible for these clubs to steal the title.

With 47 points, Sevilla currently sits in third place. The club has made several headlining wins in the season and could pull a miracle. The club will resume its season with a match against Real Betis on Thursday.

Real Sociedad and Getafe both have 46 points apiece, with a winning advantage, putting the former on top. With that performance, they may win the title, provided that they come out strong with their upcoming matches.

As for Real Madrid, the club has the manpower and reputation to win the title. The club will resume its season with a match against Eibar on Sunday, June 15.
