The Pixel 4a is almost within our reach. Here’s everything that we know so far, including its possible release date.

In 2020, the mobile world is all about mid-range, budget-friendly smartphones.

Apart from the new iPhone SE, Google’s Pixel 4a series is also one that has been gaining significant traction lately. For the latter, however, this is a feat in itself as it has not been released yet. Well, officially.

In place of Google’s imminent unveiling of the Pixel 4a and 4a XL, we’ve collated only the most compelling, albeit rumored features of the upcoming duo.

Here’s the roundup so far.

Pixel 4a pricing

The latest development in terms of the Google Pixel 4a’s pricing could send shock waves unto those who are already mulling over on purchasing the 2020 iPhone SE. Accordingly, the vanilla Pixel 4a’s base 128GB variant could arrive with a USD 349 price tag. This is cheaper than the previously estimated price at USD 399.

The new iPhone SE launched with a USD 399 price tag for its 64GB variant.

Android 11

While the COVID-19 has put the crimp on virtually anything in the mobile industry, Google is still tipped to be taking the wraps off its upcoming services. For instance, the search giant could be announcing the beta version of Android 11 through an online event on June 3.

It could also be during this event that the company could announce the Pixel 4a. Note that Google also announced the Pixel 3a during the Google I/O 2019 event last year.

Nevertheless, the Google Pixel 4a could still launch with Android 10 and will get updated to Android 11 later on. This is also the same route the Pixel 3a went with, with the Android 9.0 OS as its first Android platform.

Display with a cutout

Google is more than determined now to catch up with its compatriots in terms of display and design. Such is the case of the upcoming Pixel 4a, speculated to arrive with a hole-punch display, one that should house its single, front-facing snapper.

Meanwhile, rumor has it that Google could be keeping the headphone jack in the Pixel 4a series like it did on the Pixel 3a lineup.

5G debut

When Google announced the Pixel 4 and 4XL in the fourth quarter of 2019, many were puzzled as the duo didn’t arrive with the much-need 5G connectivity feature.

Google could be resolving this upset with the release of its next budget phone, as possibly its first phone to come with 5G.

Google is tipped to unveil the Pixel 4a without a 4a XL variant on July 13.
