The main difference among the HUAWEI nova 7, 7 SE, and 7 Pro lies on their individual Kirin chipsets and camera configurations.
The HUAWEI nova 7, HUAWEI nova 7 SE, and HUAWEI nova 7 Pro have now been unveiled. Launched in China, the newest smartphones are positioned in the upper mid-range segment.
HUAWEI nova 7 specifications
The vanilla HUAWEI nova 7 features a 6.53-inch OLED display, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The phone’s screen also sports a cutout which houses a single 32MP selfie shooter.
Powering the HUAWEI nova 7 is HUAWEI’s HiSilicon Kirin 985. The phone is then coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. A 4,000mAh battery, with support for 40W fast wired charging, also launches with the device.
On its rear, the HUAWEI nova 7 comes with a quadruple-camera setup. It comprises a 64MP wide camera, an 8MP telephoto lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro lens.
Other key features of the HUAWEI nova 7 include an in-display fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and USB Type-C.
HUAWEI nova 7 Pro specifications
The HUAWEI nova 7 Pro offers a slightly larger 6.57-inch OLED display, with an FHD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. There is also a dual punch hole placed on the screen’s upper left section. The cutout houses two front-facing cameras.
The rear camera setup of the HUAWEI nova 7 Pro almost mirrors that of the regular nova 7, except for a periscope lens. The module features an 8MP sensor with PDAF, OIS, and 5x optical zoom. Meanwhile, its pill-shaped cutout on the display houses 32MP wide and 8MP ultra-wide sensors.
The rest of the features and specifications of the Pro variant are identical to the nova 7.
HUAWEI nova 7 SE
Touted as the toned-down version of the standard nova 7, the HUAWEI nova 7 SE features the smallest display among the three. It sports a 6.5-inch LTPS IPS LCD display with a single cutout for its 16MP selfie camera.
As the phone comes with an LCD panel, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor was provided instead, as opposed to its siblings’ fingerprint readers underneath their displays.
The HUAWEI nova 7 SE’s rear camera setup is also headlined by a 64MP camera, with 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensors accompanying it.
Under the proverbial hood, the HUAWEI nova 7 SE is powered by the Kirin 820 5G chipset, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage options. The phone also boasts the same battery capacity and fast charging tech. It also supports 5W reverse charging.
