Kate Middleton has been receiving praise not just for her efforts for the monarchy but also for her good attitude. A hairdresser commended her being down to earth and revealed she has a “wicked sense of humor.” The Duchess of Cambridge has reportedly no “airs and graces,” while Prince William is “very nice,” too.
Richard Ward, who fixed Kate Middleton’s hair on her wedding reception, recalled the rare moment he worked with the Cambridges. He said he could have “a good joke” with Prince William’s wife, as he remembered their special day on their ninth wedding anniversary.
A down-to-earth couple
Ward usually blow-dries the future queen consort’s locks at his Chelsea Salon. He is also the one who styled her hair for the royal wedding reception in April 2011.
The hairstylist recalled how the Duke of Cambridge helped him create his wife’s signature bouncy hair for her evening look. He was even surprised to learn that the couple is down to earth behind the scenes.
He told People that the first time he went to their home, Prince William prepared him a cup of tea. “That was very nice,” he said.
Ward also revealed that Kate Middleton has a “wicked sense of humor.” “It’s quite dry, there’s no airs and graces – you can have a good joke with her,” he explained.
The mother-of-three donned a demi-chignon hair with loose curls when she walked down the aisle of Westminster Abbey. Ward then changed her locks to her signature bouncy hairstyle with the help of Prince William himself.

“Nine years ago today,” they captioned the snap on their Kensington Palace Instagram account. “Thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!”
According to The Sun, the royal couple’s royal wedding was “one of the most momentous events of the decade.” Millions around the world waited and watched its live broadcast on TV. It was even declared a public holiday in the United Kingdom.
Today, Prince William and Kate Middleton are one of the most hardworking senior royals. They are reportedly preparing for their future roles in the monarchy. The couple is now looking after their three beautiful kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, while self-isolating in their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.
