Riot Games talks about its future plans on how to improve League of Legends ranked and matchmaking systems.
Riot Games, League of Legends’ developers, recently posted an update about future adjustments on the game’s matchmaking system.
It also contained a few upcoming events, preseason exploration and improvements in ranked matches as well as its rewards.
Improvements
The most common concern among League of Legends’ players is the sort of ranked games they receive. Some of these include queue time, player bans and server status.
Since the launch of version 10.6, Riot initiated the auto-fill parity which equalizes the auto-fills among teams. It also resolved the problems about being matched with and against premade teams.
Ever since the launch of auto-fill parity, the games have drastically improved. The data gathered shows that auto-fill imbalances have significantly gone down and queuing has gotten better as well.

Matchmaking changes
After fixing auto-fills and bugs, Riot Games is aiming to improve League of Legends’ matchmaking system better.
Their next project is called Ranked Account Seeding which will utilize new matchmaking algorithms to upgrade ranked queues.
This could be amazing news for fans who are playing a lot of ranked games and have faced games which lowered their MMR for the ongoing season.
Ranked Account Seeding will guarantee that low tiered players will not get matched with high tier players. In the previous matchmaking system, the developers have situated all players in the bottom half of their current rank.
This is extremely wrong since this will allow high tier players to match up with low tier players thus, making it easier to climb up the rankings.
The new rank system aims to collect more information about its players which will accurately match them to their correct rank.
Feedback and reports
Riot Games are making player feedback and reporting easier for the next updates. This will be first implemented on Champion Select Reporting and Muting.
Some players engage in disputes with their teammates even during the drafting phase. The developers are hoping to lessen these by allowing players to report someone even before the game has begun.
Players can expect these updates to be launched between June and July.
Other upcoming projects
Aside from the ones mentioned above, Riot Games is also planning to boost its promotional series and inter-division demotion security.
Hopefully, this will further improve League of Legends player experience especially when ranking up to the next tier.
