The latest mid-ranger from OPPO also boasts a quad-camera setup and packs 8GB of RAM.
Another smartphone is added to OPPO’s now-expanding “A” series – the OPPO A52. Unveiled in China, the company’s newest smartphone is a bona fide mid-range entry that banks on modern display and camera offerings.
The house in the hole-punch display
The OPPO A52’s attractive display is the feature that catches your attention first. It features a massive 6.5-inch IPS LCD display, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a cutout placed on the upper left section of the screen. The hole-punch boasts the phone’s single front-facing camera.
Around the back of the OPPO A52 is a modern camera module that houses the phone’s sophisticated quadruple-camera setup.
The OPPO A52 measures 162.0 x 75.5 x 8.9mm in size and weighs 192 grams. It retails in two color variants – Black and Blue.
A Qualcomm mid-range chipset at the core
Fueling the OPPO A52 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 SoC, which is coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. The phone also packs 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. At the time of this writing, it is still unspecified whether the phone supports storage expansion.
Another highlight of the OPPO A52 resides in the battery department. The phone boasts a sizeable 5,000mAh battery capacity, which also supports 18W fast charging.
The league of the rectangular rear camera module
The OPPO A52 is also one of those smartphones which sport that familiar rectangle-shaped camera design on its rear. The module houses a quadruple-camera setup, which is front-lined by a 12MP wide shooter. The device’s primary camera is then accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens, and 2MP and 2MP macro and depth sensors, respectively.
Inside the phone’s display cutout is an 8MP selfie shooter.
An impressive set of miscellaneous features
The OPPO A52 is also a powerhouse of all things miscellaneous. The phone has Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth, 3,5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. Additionally, the handset also features a fingerprint reader that is mounted on its side, one that also doubles as the phone’s power button.
Running the OPPO A52 is OPPO’s ColorOS 7.1, based on the latest Android 10.0.
Pricing and availability
The OPPO A52, which is currently on sale in China, is priced at CNY 1,599 for its 8GB/128GB variant.
